KeySafe Help: Game Odds

NOTE: This feature is only available if you have chosen to play a game in the "Features/Options" field and you have set the Current Permission field to either "yes" or "window" (single or repeating). Currently only the Dice game is available.

"Game Odds" permits you to set the chances that your wearer will get a release each time she finds a permission. The available odds range from 1/2% (1 in 200) to 90% (9 in 10) with a number of choices in between. Once you have selected the odds you want, the software selects a specific combination of four dice (such as the sum of the dice must be less than 13), which has the roughly the same chance of being rolled as the odds you chose.

When your wearer finds the window, she will see 4 electronic dice that she can start rolling and then stop all at once or one at a time. The roll is completely random no matter how much your wearer tries to "influence" the roll. If the final roll is the "right" one, she gets a release. If not, she "missed her chance."

A feature has been added to help you figure out the chances of a release when you have set repeating windows. Directly below the "Game Odds" field is bold black text that gives the current overall chances of a release if all the windows are found. By choosing different combinations of game odds and number of Repeats, you can get pretty close to any overall chance of success you want to give your wearer.

If you have set an Infinite number of windows, then of course, your wearer will eventually earn a release. In this case, the overall odds line will show you how many windows it will take for your wearer to have had a 50/50 chance of getting her release. For example, with a 1% chance of success, half your wearers would have earned a release by the 45th window. The other half your wearers would still be waiting!

You can change the "Game Odds" at any time and as soon as you press the "Record Changes" button, the changes will take effect.
