Wearer's with a Model 50 safe have told us that once they have 6 or 7 digits, they can try out 10 or 100 combinations very easily and get the safe open long before the Star game is over. With the Model 50, there is no way for the holder to know the safe has been opened early. Therefore, in order to prevent the wearer from cheating in this way the system slightly modifies the true combination by subtracting the adjustment factor shown in this field from the actual combination for all the safes. It is the digits to this modified combination that are revealed to your wearer in the Star Game.
This number is just provided for your information. You never have to do anything with this number, but if you are interested, if you add this number to the number shown in So Far, you will get the true combination. Wearers with a Model 50 or Model 100 safe also do not have to use this number to figure out the true combination; the system gives them the true number automatically. However, since a keypad combination is only a secondary way of opening a Model 200, those wearers must actually add the number they found to the adjustment factor (which they will be given only when all 8 digits have been revealed and typed into the system properly) to get the true combination. Let's hope they are up on their math!
